Chris and Linda Wallace start a small janitorial supply store which will eventually become the abc we know and love today. Between selling supplies and cleaning offices, the happy couple stay quite busy for nearly a decade before turning to window cleaning equipment.

After working as janitors and selling janitorial supplies for year, Chris and Linda Wallace decide to specialize in selling window cleaning supplies. They take the business national, shipping gear all over the country. abc was born! That September abc placed its first ad in the American Window Cleaning magazine. Little did the industry know that abc would one day be the world’s largest supplier!

abc attends it’s first IWCA convention in Reno. Though new to the scene, everyone remarks that abc is undoubtedly the most amazing supplier they’ve seen. Henry Unger says, “so this is the Chris Wallace that Marty is afraid of!” (No, we aren’t making this up). This year Keith Witt, who set the guinness record for faster window cleaner, make the wise choice to buy from abc.

abc is growing rapidly, and quickly finding it’s office space to be too cramped. The growing staff share desks, and warily eye the precariously stacked inventory. As a result, abc moves to a larger space and continues its ascent to being the largest and best supplier. The Wallace sons grow up in the business, and are shamelessly used for promotional purposes. At one particularly undignified show in Texas, the boys dress like cowboys and pass out SWAG. The abc media department is formed and takes original photographs of all products (after a few thousand photo edits, Jacob Wallace declares that he is tired of taking pictures of squeegees).

abc finally moves to a new building. Over double the size, and with truck docks. Employees rejoice that they no longer have to unload trucks by hand.

abc takes the plunge and gets into WaterFed® in a big way! We hire Jeff Klass, industry legend, to handle the division. Later in 2008, abc develops its own line of pure water carts. Naturally, they are a big hit! Over the next few years more cutting edge carts are developed, and abc becomes the North America distributor for Exel poles.

Everything is going great... until the building we are renting is purchased by University of Denver that is. In one of the strangest days that we have experienced, our new building owner walks in our front door and informs us that our lease will not be renewed. Unfortunately, our lease was up in only a few months (though they kindly gave us an extra 2 months). We dropped everything and looked at over 100 buildings in the next few days. Over the next few months we went through the arduous process of purchasing a new building.

In January we become the proud new owners our a 18,000 sq ft building. We waste no time in starting construction to build out offices and a kitchen. Then we start moving. Though you couldn’t tell since we still got your orders out on time, we had a few weeks of chaos. Inventory and staff were in two locations, so pulling an order could be complicated. April 15 we make the switch, turning the phones off in one location, and turning them on in the other. After a stressful few months, we start to settle in and see the benefits of having a larger space. One benefit we didn’t see coming was that we had the extra space to donate to Operation Christmas Child for storing their processing center.
