ISC, which stands for International Safety Components, has been a pioneer in the manufacturing of backup devices for the highrise window washing and rope descent industry since 1966. The ISC Rope Grab with parking Brake works on 7/16" and some 1/2" (10.5-12.7mm) rope and essentially works two ways. The first requires no hand intervention when traveling up and down the rope. The two cams in the device are “loose” and cause no friction on the rope. If a fall were to occur, the device locks onto the rope by twisting. The rope is not damaged by this kernmantle rope grab because the cams do not use teeth. The second way this rope grab fall protection device can be used in a “self-braking” or locking way by sliding over the gray brake plate. Ascending the rope, you can place this device over your head to reduce fall distance. Ideal for rope positioning work specifically and all high rise window cleaning. ISC recommends connecting the device directly to your harness with a carabiner. If you use a lanyard, the maximum connection length, including carabiners, is only 9.87", which can be hard to stay under.

  1. Can be switched between Self Trailing and Locking.
  2. ISC Recommends attaching directly to harness with a carabiner.
