Kong, whose mission is “to manufacture safety where risk is the protagonist”, manufacturers, tests, and ships its products all around the world, including the Kong Back Up Rope Grab. Working on 7/16" rope, this Kong rope grab moves freely up and down the rope with the operator. It is also able to be turned to lock mode by engaging a special button. This allows the rope grab to work as a positioning device (self-braking) and is handy for when you want to minimize fall distance. It is ideal for high rise window cleaning and rope access jobs in general. Loading the Back Up onto rope is easy. “Special manufacturing” (KONG’s words, not ours) allows the Back Up to support the strongest stress (Fall Factor 2 with the included lanyard) in a semi-dynamic way to avoid the shocking effect on the ropes caused by the traditional self-locking devices with toothed cams. Unlike other similar backup devices for highrise window washers, the Kong backup device comes with the one Kong Steel Oval ANSI triple auto locking carabiner and a 12" Webbing Lanyard.
